BTTS Tips for Wednesday, 3rd April

3 min read

It’s time to start with the BTTS Tips for April with some pretty pleasing mid-week football action to enjoy on Wednesday. Let’s check out our picks for that day:

Manchester City vs Cardiff – Premier League

Manchester City vs Cardiff BTTSManchester City are still trailing by 1 point to Liverpool after the Reds managed to grind out a last minute win against Tottenham on Sunday in their fight for the Premier League crown. The Citizens still has an advantage due to their game in hand.

On the other hand, Cardiff has been left disappointed after they allowed late comeback against Chelsea. The Bluebirds are 5 points adrift from safety and are obliged to take something from their clash at Etihad.

However, that looks like a mission impossible. The reigning champions are the best home team in the division losing only 2 points in front of their supporters. Moreover, they have scored the impressive 3.31 goals per home game while the fans have seen over 4 goals per match at Etihad over the course of the season.

City have managed to put the ball in the back of the net of the opposition in 16 consecutive league matches played in Manchester. Pep Guardiola’s team have scored and conceded in 62% of their encounters at home turf. At the same time, Cardiff have conceded averagely 2 goals per visit.

They have also struggled to keep a clean sheet away from home – it happened on only 21% of the matches. With that being said, we expect to see an attractive encounter and over 2.5 goals to be scored.

Both teams to score a goal: YES

Roma vs Fiorentina – Serie A

Roma are facing Fiorentina in a battle of teams which have underperformed in Serie A so far. Roma is sitting in 7th place after being thrashed at home by Napoli with both teams scoring a goal exactly as we predicted. The visitors are in a run of 5 consecutive matches without a win. Despite struggling to live up to the expectations, the rivals may provide a goal show to the supporters at Olimpico.

Roma have scored over 2 goals per home match and have netted in 11 games in a row as hosts. At the same time, they conceded in 93% of their home games – 4 goals have been scored by both teams per occasion. Fiorentina’s defense is also vulnerable in their visits – they have kept a clean sheet in only 20% of these games.

However, they have managed to score 1.27 goals on average away from home – they have netted at least once in 5 matches on the bounce. Both teams have scored on 67% of  Viola’s games away from Artemio Franchi. In conclusion, we expect both teams to score again on Wednesday night.

Both teams to score a goal: YES

Empoli vs Napoli – Serie A

Empoli vs Napoli BTTSEmpoli will welcome the 2nd placed Napoli in their fight to survive in Serie A. The hosts are currently in the relegation zone, but the survival is still within their reach. Carlo Ancelotti’s men have already lost any chances for the title, but the runners up position seems to be secured.

Empoli’s attack has scored on a regular basis at home – 2 or more goals have been scored in their last 4 matches. It is not a surprise that 84% of the Blue’s points have been achieved at the Stadio Carlo Castellani. However, they have kept a clean sheet in only 13 % of these games – both teams have scored in two-thirds of the matches.

Napoli are also famous with their attack – they have scored 4 goals in 2 of their last 3 visits. Their goal ratio as visitors is also impressive – 1.62 goals per game. Both teams have netted in half of these matches. We predict that it will happen again when the vice-champions travel to  Empoli on Wednesday.
