Weekend BTTS and Win Tips [17th-18th Aug] 1

More and more football is coming up week after week so we decided to start making some BTTS and win tips. Let’s check out what we gave for this weekend:

Date Match BTTS
18th August Southampton vs Liverpool Away Win and BTTS: YES
19th August Bahia vs Goias Home Win and BTTS: NO

Southampton vs Liverpool – England – Premier League

Southampton vs Liverpool BTTS

Liverpool started the season with a great win, but that wasn’t enough to take the 1st position in the standing table. Now their next mission is Southampton which are still looking to find their first goal.

Southampton failed to score in their first game for the season against Burnley playing as away team. Looking closely at that game we noticed that The Saints have actually made more shots than Burnley. Also, Nathan Redmond made a decent performance causing some troubles to Burnley’s defence.

On the other side is Liverpool, which started with a 4-1 win against Norwich and then they even won the UEFA Super Cup after 120 min clash with Chelsea. Some of the players could be tired, but the overall quality of the team is bigger than their opponents.

Alison is injured and the last game between both teams on 5th April 2019 finished with 1-3 for Liverpool. This makes us think that we are going to see almost the same scenario.

Prediction – BTTS and Win for Liverpool

Bahia vs Goias – Brazil – Serie A

Bahia vs Goias
Home Total BTTS Stats: Total Away
57% 50% Clean sheets 29% 29%
43% 21% Won-to-nil 14% 14%
29% 21% Scored in both halves 14% 0%
29% 36% Both teams scored 50% 43%
29% 43% Failed to score 36% 43%
14% 14% Lost-to-nil 21% 29%
29% 29% Conceded in both halves 21% 43%

Bahia (10th) are standing up against Goias (13th) in a Brazilian Sunday Serie A clash. The home is performing well recently achieving 6 points in the last 4 encounters with 3 draws and 1 win. Their opponent has acquired only 1 point for this period.

Two teams in totally different forms make us think that Bahia will win this, especially if we look in the latest home and away encounters:

Latest at home Latest away
(in the league, most recent first)
BAH – Flamengo 3-0 2-0  Corinthians – GOI
BAH – Cruzeiro 0-0 6-1  Santos – GOI
BAH – Santos 0-1 0-0  Avai – GOI
BAH – Grêmio 1-0 6-1  Flamengo – GOI

So Bahia have conceded only one goal in the last 4 encounters at Itaipava Fonte Nova Arena. And they even conceded this one against the leader of the standing table Santos so we can’t see any defensive issues in this team.

Another factor is the away form of  Goias – simply terrible. They have scored 2 goals and concede 14. They were playing against the best in the league but conceding 6 goals per game is too much.

Prediction – BTTS: YES
